Introduction
CREDE, Centre for Reproductive and Developmental Medicine, is one of the Research Programs of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Turku and BioCity Turku. The research program is currently composed of 18 research groups.
Major research topics
Major research topics at CREDE are: Biology of Reproductive Hormones, Developmental mechanisms, Skeletal research, Clinical reproduction research.
The CREDE comprises basic science, clinical and social science projects. We are committed to further strengthening the interaction between basic and clinical sciences, and to keep the development of modern medical care in focus. Part of our activities is also aimed at developing novel drugs and diagnostic methods in collaboration with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Research training
Close to 100 doctoral dissertations have been supervised and completed in the research groups of CREDE since 1994. In addition, CREDE reaserchers actively participate in the research training and teaching in the Research Track for Medical Students, in the Master Program of Biomedical Health Sciences, and in various Doctoral programs: Turku Doctoral Programme of Biomedical Sciences(TuBS), Turku Graduate School in Clinical Sciences, FinPharma Doctoral Program Drug Discovery (FPDP-D) and National Doctoral Programme of Musculoskeletal Disorders and Biomaterials (TBDP).
